Sustainability is one of Brisa Group's corporate values, along with Ethics, Excellence, Innovation, and People.
The Brisa Group has a set of ambitious goals across the three ESG pillars:
Environment
- Reduce emissions associated with fuel consumption and electricity use (scopes 1 and 2) by 60% by 2030, compared to 2021
- Engage key suppliers (representing 63.9% of value chain emissions) in adopting climate targets by 2029 (scope 3, categories 1 and 2)
- Reduce emissions associated with energy production and distribution, as well as employee commuting (scope 3, categories 3 and 7) by 42% by 2030, compared to 2021
- Achieve net-zero by 2040
- Protect High Nature Value areas on motorway verges, with regeneration and effective recovery of biodiversity (KPI level 3 by 2028 compared to 2022)
- Promote the Circular Economy (achieve Level 3 of the Circular Economy Action Ranking by 2028, compared with 2022)
Social
- Reduce the number of accidents with lost working time by 2030: LTIFR1 ≤ 6.0 (Base Year: 2021)
- Reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries in road accidents by 50% by 2030, compared to 2019, with the aim of achieving the Zero Deaths target
- Hire at least 2 disabled employees per year by 2028
- Strengthen the implementation of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion agenda by implementing a Gender Equality Plan and promoting an inclusive environment
Governance
- Formally implement a sustainability governance model
- Achieve full convergence between the percentage of women in the workforce and the percentage of women in leadership positions (39% of leadership positions held by women by 2029)²
- Have in place a policy of respect for Human Rights and a human rights due diligence process and declare support for the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights
