Brisa challenges startups to work on road safety
First call of the Group's open innovation program launches on February 17th
The Brisa Group wants to challenge national and international startups to develop road safety solutions. The Group's first open innovation program is being launched on Monday, February 17, inviting companies to make innovative proposals that strengthen the protection of drivers and highway workers.
From the perspective of driver safety, the challenge aims to create tools that make it possible to communicate more effectively and promptly with drivers on the road, warning them in the event of an accident, lost objects or road works.
Startups should include in their solutions the proactive improvement of information for drivers and the development of tools that make it easier for highway operators to provide prompt information on any safety changes, such as the appearance of obstacles in the road, changes in traffic in the event of accidents or fires and information on alternative routes.
The solutions to be developed should also raise awareness and educate about best driving practices and ensure that everyone knows how to act in the event of an accident or unforeseen event.
In this context, proposals are also called for to make drivers aware of the need to curb excessive speed, the use of cell phones and dangerous manoeuvres, as well as to create barriers to contain and protect workplaces and optimize traffic flows in critical areas.
Regarding improving the safety of those who work on highways, the challenge is to develop proposals that strengthen protection and reduce the time spent in and exposed to danger. In this area, the aim is to develop personal protection tools, improve visibility and signage, create protective barriers and safer accessibility, as well as innovations that allow these tasks to be done more quickly and with less risk.
Applications from startups are open until the end of March. In April, projects will be pre-selected and, on May 29, the finalist startups will present their solutions to the company so that those that will be developed can be selected.
